Dispute bank transaction?

A buyer wanted a refund which was in my pending balance, so paypal took the money as an ACH transaction directly from my bank account, instead of refunding the original payment. Can I dispute this with my bank?

Yes you can dispute the transaction, however, paypal will just debit the total from your pp account.

Re: Dispute bank transaction?

You CAN dispute this with your bank, but in my experience, banks don't like disputed ACH transactions UNLESS the charge was either fraud or a mistake. This may not happen, but your bank might ask you if you have an account with PayPal and if this was related to that account. I have been through this with 2 banks. Both asked in similar ways.

And remember, if you have multiple accounts at that bank you COULD be opening up a can of worms, because if the names do not match (if the account is a stealth account) they could start looking more closely at your other accounts.

Banks don't really like accounts being credited or debited under mismatched names, but most transactions go through because of the automation. This is especially true with certain banks. Since it has not caused them a big problem, it is not something they are looking out for. But if you bring it to their attention, they could look at all of your accounts and ask you to take your business elsewhere.

This is not GUARANTEED to happen, but it very well could. Banks, due to the fact that they are dealing with money, do NOT like uncertainty.
