How long does it take until the 1st limit?

I just wonder how long does it take for some of you to meet the 1st limit by paypal when selling. And what do they require you to provide on your 1st limit?

Mine got 1st limit (for that particular account) after 4 days of selling. It was receiving on average about USD600-700 per day. They asked me to provide, proof of inventory, id and address proof. The 1st limit was removed relatively quickly (within 3 days) for me.

Would like to know some of you guys' experience on that.

my first limit was about maybe 2 weeks after opening..
they wanted everything but my fingerprint lol
SS, Supplier Info, Invoices, update contact info
Their reason was i was listing in a hot category
did about 4 sales totaling around $1200

yaw1800, so did you provide the info? Or you just let it die?

I have been limited in less than a week...
And then I have some PP accounts going over a year with NO limit ever.
So it all depends on what you sell, the amount of money you pump through there and how quickly you do it....
And a few other factors.

Its happened to me on a few accounts, all of them i abandoned except 1, which i just called up paypal and the woman was extremely generous and removed the SS requirement. Whenever i get a limitation, for some reason, even though they ask for ss, i never provide it yet they still remove the limitation for me

I opened my ebay and paypal in Nov 08. Sold 10 items $40 average in Dec. Sold around 20 items worth $6-40. I have 11 positive feedbacks no negative. Now I get the limitation. Paypal said: As part of our efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for the online community, we regularly screen account activity. Our review of your account has identified an issue regarding its safe use. We have placed a restriction on your account as a precaution.

To lift the restriction we will require some further information from you.

If, once we review your further information and we're confident that the use of your account does not present a safety risk to our service and customers, we'll be happy to reinstate your account.

They want my SSN, invoices, supplier information. I don't think it's a good idea to give out SSN in my opinion. If I can't find a way around this I guess I'll just move on from this account.
