Paypal 21 day holding after 1 small dispute
 

I have a business paypal account, established for well over 2 years now.

I have an ecommerce store where we accept CC & Paypal.

I have had over 20k a month coming and just as much going out.

I have had my first dispute ever, of a small $29.99. The person disputing has not responded once to my emails. But that's besides the point, Paypal now holds every single payment for 21 days.

I'm quite certain I will lose the dispute as the package was shipped to another country and tracking stops tracking once it leaves the US.

What would be the best way to handle this, refund & close and try contacting paypal to life limits?

Or try to fight it, and take the chance?

If you are sure you are going to loose the dispute just close it. Call paypal and ask why are they holding your money for 21 days now if your record is very good and this was your first dispute for a small ammount compared to your sales. Explain that your your buisness model you need the money to clear faster and you can't wait 21 days. They most likely will take care of it.

If your doing 20K a month for two years it seems u have an established account, I'd refund the 29.99 and call PayPal and see if they can release the holds.

This has been the only issue? No spike in chargebacks, cases , refunds?

Never had an issue from what i can remember.

Never had any chargebacks or cases open, we at times do partial refunds because the customer will forget to use a coupon code while purchasing the product.

Hopefully small refunds aren't frowned upon from paypal.

When this happens I sent the funds as payment instead of refund. Yes I lose a small amount, but better on the metrics.
