Registering a LLC with similar name to oen paypal blocked
 

Hi,

I am registering a new LLC in a new state as a result of a business move.

For various reasons that are related to the business (marketing primarily) and unavoidable, I need to use a name that is similar the previous one.

The previous name was blocked on paypal (never actually used on ebay but I'm sure they know about it).

The blocked account has been inactive for over 6 months and is not in any way linked to the active account that is healthy.

Do you think paypal is smart enough to link accounts based on "close enough" searching? From a technical standpoint that would be a bit of a PITA and would result in a ton of false positives.

So say the name on the blocked account was Tims Hotdog Stand. What if I register timshotdogstand LLC

Or taken farther, timshotdogstand.com LLC

Otherwise there has been a 100% clean break from the companies and the current account is very healthy.

To be honest. I would not have the name of LLC be exact match to name. You need to make some sort if variation to be honest.
PP can look up the database of the state and verify the name if they wanted to. I would do clean break to be honest. Just dotting your eyes and crossing your (T)s. Its precaution everyone should take to be honest.
PP system has to evolve. If I am able pass the AMZ account checks than I golden with eBay/PP.
