Funds held, limited and totally confused!
 

Hi guys,

Something really weird has happened to me and I beg someone can help me.

I have sent three different payments to a seler, $4000 in total from october until this week.

These, plus others for approx U$S 10 have been held (due to unauthorized use of the account, etc). Note: I genuinely paid for those items. I have been asked for docs but PP still decided to limit the account in the end.

Now PP is asking the seller to either refund, provide tracking, etc. He is my permanent supplier and I want HIM to have the funds, which are currently held. There is no tracking number as I collect the merchandising myself.

The question is, based on your experience, is PayPal going to refund me in the end, is the seller going to have his money back on his account, or is PayPal going to keep the money permanently?

Please help me - I am extremely worried.

Were they used via your credit card to pay the seller?

Based on experience I have had this happened many times with paypal. What you need to do is provide tracking numbers and wherever he lives have him ship something to you with a tracking number even if its international. If you don't do that then paypal will refund you back to your account and you will have to wait the 180 days until your limited account passes that 180 day stand.

I once didn't provide any tracking and I only explained to them and they limited my account and the seller account and both got closed even with tracking. This happened months ago. It's kind of pathetic, but they do this since account hijacking does happen.

Now the game changes if you got paid by buyers and they didn't receive the items or have complaints against you and you paid your seller with those funds then all the funds will go back to the buyers on your account. If you didn't do this then don't worry.

@astralman My seller is providing a tracking number but I am not sure if it will be useful because it's a warehouse receipt number (the warehouse forwards the items to my country). It's all genuine but it's not FedEx, USPS, DHL, etc.

I have no complaints from my buyers.

So my conclusion is that I will have the funds refunded and I will be able to withdraw them in 180 days? That would be no problem. What it worries me now is that my seller's account is going to be limited too because of me? :(

You will probably have your funds refunded and you will be able to withdraw in 180days. I dont know about warehouse numbers, but it's better you ship with usps, ups, fedex, recognizable shipping providers. Anyways goodluck.

That would be very fine. My only concern is that my supplier's account gets limited because of me. After all, he did nothing wrong, but PP is weird so do you have any info about if this could actually happen? His account is extremely well established and his eBay feedback is 3000+, registered in 2007.
