| jm091804 | 12-20-2015 11:34 AM | How long to ignore EIN request Paypal emailed 2nd time in a week for EIN or SSN do i worry am i good till end of year. Reason i ask is after the 31st i going back to my other 2 stealths. Don't want to open another EIN. If they do limit my account it will be only receiving money and request? I can still withdraw right. I got like 1,000 pending just open the account 2 months ago. |
| yankee | 12-20-2015 11:44 AM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request well, after the 1st, you start at zero again.
The moment you hit 200/20K it will be limited to receiving funds. You can still withdraw etc.. |
| jm091804 | 12-20-2015 06:22 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request So they will keep asking me to Get EIN or SSN until I hit 200 and 20k. This can go for many many months then? |

| miclus | 12-20-2015 07:42 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request Hi, guys. I've sold things on 3 different accounts this year. All items were between $25 and $30. On all 3 accounts, Paypal gave me the initial tax ID request at the 151st payment received. I kept selling on 2 accounts and they gave me the second reminder (where they limit you from closing the account) at the 171st payment received. They gave me the limited email (where they limit you from receiving payments) at the 191st payment received.
Anyway, just some info from my own experience. |
| jm091804 | 12-20-2015 08:18 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request mostly ranging from 10-15 dollars items |

| miclus | 12-20-2015 08:39 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request It varies wildly. Some weeks 20, some weeks 60. Also, some accounts rested for a month or so at various times. The good news is things are consistent across all my accounts, so I can plan ahead. |
| yankee | 12-20-2015 08:52 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request I sell pretty rapidly and almost never get the first request until after 200 items, but it might be 100 items in a day or more depending on the age of the account or what I am selling.
Also, most of my accounts sell mixed priced items. So 200-230 items and 15-17K when i get the request usually.
I am guessing the sales come in fast so I can get more out of the accounts. Basically all the sames and money comes in at once so the system does not catch it as quickly. |
| jm091804 | 12-21-2015 12:58 AM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request i sell about 50 items a week or so about 10 dollar each and account is 2 1/2 months old now. |

| vogeltron | 12-21-2015 04:50 AM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request I have had two accounts limited from receiving money in the past. The first was 2013 when I had 130 before July. The second was 2014 when I had 190 in December. Luckily both PayPal's were reset at the end Jan the next year.
My advice for stealth's that you don't plan on providing a tax id is to use many and spread them out. Keep a spreadsheet or log of the number of PayPal transactions and the $$ value for each month. Then in your head use common sense with regards to 200/$20k laws and what other users have said.
Create a system of if I sell too much to fast on this account I will put it aside until later in the year, etc. The key is to keep transactions lower in the first half of the year then use as much as you can in the 4th quarter to smartly maximize that close to 190 sales.
I have had a close friend who like another member mentioned high sales volume number. He was able to sell over 200 transactions in like a month but PayPal locked his accounts from receiving and closing and never reset them the next year. Just FYI depending on how much hassle it is for anyone reading to make accounts and what not. |
| miclus | 12-21-2015 05:01 AM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request I'll post an update which accounts reset (if any) next year for myself. I decided to sell about 17 items after the initial request on the 3rd account, with the thinking that only 20 would cause them to send the second email. It seems to have worked out, but I won't push it any further. So, I'll have one account with just the warning and two with the limitations as test subjects for next year. |
| Gladiator | 12-21-2015 05:05 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request In my case if I don't give them an EIN in 1-2 days after the first email reminder the account gets limited and I have to call in to fix it. |
| access0ner | 12-23-2015 12:06 AM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request 20K and 200 items or either 20K OR 200 items? I just got the email as well. So it starts over in the beginning of the year I wasn't 100% sure that was true. So your saying it is....
I'm selling 1.00 goods and 100.00 goods on/off.. more 1.00 goods than 100.00 goods. Quote:

| access0ner | 12-23-2015 01:03 AM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request i think mine is different is requesting that I do this TODAY! It did let me transfer some money to my bank i still have around $200 in the account (21 Day Hold) with all eBay fees paid off. what should i do guys, will it renew after the beginning of the year.
Should I remove all my items? |
| wtfebay | 12-28-2015 12:11 PM | Re: How long to ignore EIN request This is what I am confused on as well. Sure the 200/20k threshold resets in January....but does the SSN REQUEST go away? I have gotten the tax info request and when I try to add EIN, it wants me to upgrade to a business account...I click "upgrade now" and it says that I cant upgrade because my account is limited. I can still receive/send/withdraw. |

Stop selling until after the first of the year IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR SECOND REQUEST. It is only a few days.... |

Tons of threads about this.
You have to call in and have them manually upgrade, add EIN and argue about not supplying the last for of the SS.
Nobody knows if this exact problem will go away late in January or not because it is a new glitch only a few months old. |

Worked so far for me and many others on the forum. We have one newer member who talks a lot, argues more but does not have much stealth experience send me a messages saying this advice got his account limited .....but I believe it is 100% pure BS. Honestly, I dont think he ever sold a single item never mind get a request based on his threads.
So to be clear, I personally have not had any issues using the last 4 of the EIN in place of the SS on any accounts from late summer to early fall. All are doing well and very healthy. Also, many reports that this also works from other long time and respected members on this forum with some I consider friends.
Problem is when you get stuck in that loop and have to call in to manually get it done, Reps can be persistent about the last four. I believe solefoodbk had some troubles and finally got them to add the EIN... | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:06 PM. | |
