Limited Paypal

Account is now limited because I need Tax Id or EIN or SSN. Whats difference bewteen TAX ID and EIN.

I got free EIN number but when I enter in paypal says i need to upgrade business account which won't let me do it.
So do I need a TAX ID instead? What if i use my social is that a major risk?

What format are they asking you the number xxx-xx-xxxx or xx-xxxxxxx?
