BatchPurifier Lite

That's what everyone here uses. The free version will only strip EXIF from JPEG's, which is all you will need for eBay photos.

Is removing exif data recommended when using a stock photo only or pictures you take yourself?

Recommended whatever way you make a listing.

Strip data to avoid linking.

I've never used an exif cleaner and I've never had a problem. The only time I had a problem is when I used a stock photo and eb took down my listings.

Is there anything that anyone uses to insert gif data, such as making a 'creative' ps jpeg, look like scanned pdf in its properties?

I only use my own pictures but would like to press the importance of not using stock pictures as have had them removed on numerous occasions.. lesson firmly learnt.

They all do the same thing.

I'm making an app that monitors a folder and when images come in, it will scan for exif data and it will erase them automatically so you just sit back and relax.

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

That would be nice, honestly. I remember a few months ago someone was saying they wrote a script that detects when a phone is connected, and it automatically pulls new photos and strips EXIF using batchpurifier. That would be a handy script..

I'll sell it for $5. Would you buy it?

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

If you can show proof of it working and a virus scan, I would buy it in a hearbeat.

Trustfund 01-01-2016 11:05 AM

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

same if you could show that i would buy it definitely.

Also if anyone can make an app that can show the balance of each paypal account without loggin into it i would pay a reasonably large sum for that.

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

Ok, looks like there's a demand for it. I'll get started.

the only way to achieve this is for you to login first and the app will fetch data and record it for later viewing. there is no magic formula to not logging in and getting info. the system needs to verify your credentials before letting you access info.

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

yeah realized that, would it be possible for you to make this, if you did it would be incredibly popular

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

I'll do more research and I'll get back to you.

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

I'm sure it's possible but that would be an intensely complex application to create. I can't speak for everyone but all of my paypals are on different IP's. That would be a major obstacle. It would have to log into each of my VPN's one at a time then log in to each paypal one at a time and retrieve data.

Good luck empirestate. I wouldn't have any use for the paypal idea, but keep me posted on the image stripping script.

What if you use a new iPhone or android to take pictures

Do you still need to remove data from pics ?

It's quite possible if you have VM's set up for each account with dedicated IP.

Actually I do, for all of my accounts. But my laptop starts getting bogged down if I try to run more than 3 at a time, lol.

The program could have an option to enter all VPN info, then it could go down the list of VPN's and login to each account using a portable firefox (so info isn't leaked) and retrieve paypal info. That would be a little less resource intensive than booting up each VM, connecting VPN, starting browser, etc.

Sounds easy enough, I'm just no good at programming lol.

Managing VMs are not meant for weak laptops. Opt to get a better desktop.

phaz0rz 01-01-2016 07:38 PM

Re: reccomended EXIF data remover

Haha it's fine for what I need it for. Considering all of my VM's run a stripped down version of XP, they actually run really fast on my laptop. I have no need to power on all the VM's at once, I can only work on one account at a time anyway.

I used to be all about having a super-computer alienware desktop. Then I realized I can use a laptop to do everything I need, and save $30/month on my power bill.

What do you guys mean "VM?"

Also, is it recommended to re-tag photos with something after stripping them? For instance, it seems it could be helpful if you tagged the photos for a specific account with the username of that account.

A VM is a virtual machine, Google - VMware to see what it is

Stripper.exe EXIF data remover

I found a small programme called 'Stripper.exe'

It is handy to remove EXIF data on single pictures.

Has a right button context menu option so you dont have to load any program, just right click on your image and click strip and in under a second the images exif data is gone.

Good for single files.

Google 'stripper.exe' and you can find it easy.

I dont think is fast or fun for multiple images but for single ones its top notch.

Thats what I think about it anyway.
