Changing eBay username ?

So my PayPal got limited because i broke the acceptable to use policy... and i'm opening a new PayPal with a new bank etc and too the same address and the main concern was my eBay account because i want to use the same eBay account and i was wondering if that would link my paypal accounts and shut the new one down?

If i change my eBay username to something similar like add some numbers would that make it safe or does eBay usernames not link PayPal accounts?

thanks.

Re: Changing eBay username ?

The paypal's would be linked if you tried to put a new paypal on an old eBay. It may work for a little while but it would not last. Best bet would be a new ebay and paypal

It will get limited within a few weeks / months

Depends what reason your Paypal got limited for

I sold a high risk item on eBay and PayPal obviously didn't like it so they permanently limited my account but my eBay is still in good standard.

If I were you, if my eBay is mature and doesn't get 21day hold, I would attach a new Paypal to take advantage of the no hold. I wouln't expect this to last in the long term but at least I taking advantage of the maturity of the eBay that carries over to Paypal when it comes to no 21day holds.

It really doesn't matter what you do to the eBay account.

If you try to link in a new PayPal when its already got linked to a limited Paypal the new PayPal WILL 100% get limited sooner or later.

It could later 24 hours, it could last 2/3 months. It will eventually be limited though

empire - regardless of the age of the ebay account, paypal would still hold payments for the first 90 days. By the time the new Paypal matured to 90 days (IF you make it 90 days) and started getting instant payments, it would be linked to the old paypal and limited.

Don't ever question my statement. I have more credibility and more experience than you. Don't spread your misinformation because I know for sure you are wrong.

Re: Changing eBay username ?

In fact Empirestate phaz0rz is correct

An old eBay linked to a new PayPal and the PayPal will most likely hold the funds for 21 days.

Re: Changing eBay username ?

So weird, your experience is different to mine. My mature, no hold, ebay account attached to a new Paypal will not get any holds.... I guess I must be doing something right.

And does that experience include UK accounts?

LMFAO. What was that all about? Arrogance isn't called for.

Now that you mentioned that... my experience applies to U.S. accounts.

@crazytaco, first step for you is to understand stealth - either read more forum posts and/or get the stealth guide.

Changing info....adding new to old stuff...these are NOT good stealth moves

Going to want to make sure you look at the flag next time you have a go at another user for spreading misinformation incase they are not the one spreading it :thumb:
