PayPal Bulgaria/Romania now they want us to add US Bank Account
 

Hello guys,

Its kinda weird situation for me. 2-3 days ago i found something extremely weird on all of my Romanian/Bulgarian accounts.
Before the "accident" all my accounts were 100% verified with debit cards.
Especially my bulgarian one, it has real debit card and real phone number attached, dedicated ip and everything.
3 days ago i found that PayPal changed something and my accounts are 80% verified now and they need me to add a bank account. But neither bulgarian or romanian bank account, BUT US BANK ACCOUNT. Why they ask for US Bank Account on Bulgarian bank account i don't know.
Usually Bulgarian and Romanian paypal accounts need only a valid debit/credit card for full verification and withdraw.
Obviously gaypal changed something, but US bank account for 100% verification, that's illegal for me. From where people in Bulgaria or Romania are supposed to get US bank account (especially if it is your legit paypal).
On top of that, when i tried to withdraw my money, i saw a red message that they (i) have a problem with my account and i need to "switch" to classic version. On the classic version they asked me for a phone verification (something i never seen before on BG/RO paypal account). Thanks god my mobile number is legit and active number, so i verified the transfer "by phone".
I know that for most EU countries you have European bank account options, but for the rest like Bulgaria or Romania, they were supposed to withdraw on a debit/credit card. Now i am very confused. What is going on? Any idea?

So you cant withdraw if you havent bank account ? Or still have option to withdraw to your card?We are in 3 category (the last - most expensive) in PP tax list maybe our contry isnt much good for their business. I read in forum that isnt problem to use (send receive and withdraw money)your account on 80% of verify . If you have problem with phone you can buy prepaid phone card add it in PP make it primary the phone number and try again .

If it's only an option to get your account to 100% then I wouldn't worry.

Don't forget lots of EU countries and countries outside the EU allow withdrawal to a card option but they also let you add a US bank account to withdraw to as well as a secondary option.

It could be seen as a bonus to some users...

Look man the situation is the following:
in UK you have some requirements like:
1. UK bank account
2. UK CC
3. email verification
4. UK phone number verification
Boom you are verified.

4-5 days ago, for Bulgaria it was possible to withdraw only on CC and CC + email verification were enough for 100% verification.
Now they want us to add US bank account (pay attention NOT BULGARIAN but US Bank account - the only available option). And if you can't add US bank, you need to verify the withdrawal process with phone verification (SMS or Voice call). It is very unfair, because honestly if we can have US bank account it makes no sense to have Bulgarian PP ( USA limit is around $10k, and European Union limit is around 2k euros).

You can withdraw on a cc, but they require a phone verification.
And even if you are allowed to withdraw after the so called phone verification, account is only 80% verified aka "no so trustworthy like before", so they can stop your transaction for additional verification. I have no problem with the phone, it is simple unfair and makes no sense, to require an US bank account from Bulgarian people for 100% verification.

When i try to link a bank account in PayPal Bulgaria, there is a message:

"Countries accepted

You can add a bank account from any of these SEPA countries:

Austria
Belgium
Cyprus
Estonia
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Ireland
Italy
Latvia
Luxembourg
Malta
Netherlands
Portugal
Spain
Slovakia
Slovenia
San Marino"

That's correct, you either link a bank from one of these countries or withdraw to a card

Same thing happened few months ago on eastern european accounts.
They did fixed it after a while.
