Just sold an item. Payment being held?.

One item I sold was flagged and removed for "illegal activity". After that the I started getting limited. But I assumed a coincidence. And the item never even sold.

All I'm trying to figure out is if I call paypal and they connect me to the security department. What is the best way to go about getting the limits removed?. Also will they request photo id?.

You never know what Paypal will ask for in a limitation but you are not limited.

I personally always find out what a problem is to either correct it or avoid it altogether.

If they dont like your items, not much you can do other than not sell them on this account.

I had an awesome account get limited last year because they did not like my ship from zip codes not being in the same areas. I learned to never edit a ship from zip code.

One time I called in on a hold and discussed about it. I was asked really odd questions. What is ended up being was a Trek Mountain Bike BANNER I sold for $50.00 under the category of Bikes. Once I explained to the rep I sold a banner/poster etc.. he laughed and fixed the account. They person who put it on hold assumed I sold a bike that retails for thousands for $50.00 with free shipping lol
I did have to send them a photo ID and supply one tracking number.

But if you have sketchy stuff, maybe you don't want to call in, keep selling very safe items and let the account repair itself.

Have you been selling constantly on this account? Or did you leave it to sit for a few months doing nothing?
If you did then this can cause holds to return back as well.

. So if I call in will they lock the account until I send a photo id to remove the hold. I'm really trying to avoid getting limited just to remove a hold. I don't want them to be like. On OK all we gotta do is limit the account and when we limit it. Just send all your info for verification and we will then be able to remove the hold. Also would it be better to call tomorrow as I'd more likely get someone in the u.s because its later in the day.

It seems like you're seeking a very specific answer, but nobody will be able to give you anything definitive. Paypal responds to everyone on a case by case basis. The results user A gets with a paypal rep A will likely be different than the results user B gets with paypal rep B. Nobody will be able to say for sure what their reaction to your case will be. But I can say if you just leave it alone and let the hold expire, you will get your money in no more than 3 weeks.

If you're afraid to call in you probably have a good reason. You have to decide if you want to risk your paypal account by calling in, or just wait for the funds to become available. I would just wait it out, but that's just me.

My first post was ignored and this one may be also. But for what it's worth, I noticed random payment holds on 2 of my long-term accounts today. Neither of the accounts has had payments held in over a year.

Is this is the account that just had the issue with the locked/unlocked phone?

If so, paypal are looking you over to see if they really want your business.

I called and they released the funds. I told them I sold 15 thousand in less than a year and shipped all my items and they released them after a review. So I'm guessing if this happens again I can just keep calling.

Pretty common experience. If I get weird holds, I want to know why and fix it right then. I am not a passive person when it comes to this stuff.
