When is it safe (after PP set up) to use funds on gift card?
 

I'm in the process of setting up some new eB and PP accounts since it's been almost 2 years since I've set up any "just in case" accounts. I just checked mygiftcardsite and I don't see where PP or eB ran a soft check on the first of three cards I'm going to use to see if it is valid. Do they still do this? I've set up one new eB/PP account and several days ago listed my first item on one of those three accounts. Can I now use the funds on the gift card or should I wait? TIA!

did you link the giftcard to ebay or paypal? paypal won't charge you unless you go through the process of confirming the card. with the expose codes.

PayPal does a soft check with 0 USD authorization whenever you added the card into PayPal accounts. It doesn't show up on mygiftcardsite but it will show up for the normal debit cards. If they don't do the authorization process, there is no way for them to be sure your card is valid & active or not.

I used the same gift card for eB, PP and Bo-nan-za. I've confirmed my bank account with PP with the two small deposits. I've listed one item on eB with no problems.
