Paypal ask for SSN
 

I have 2 Paypal account which was about 1 year old lately got limited for verification. Paypal asked for SSN. But it is a stealth account. Is there any way to work around it?

It is not over $20,000 in sales yet.

At this time we are requiring proof of identity (photo id), proof of
address, and a copy of your Social Security card.

An acceptable document for proof of identity is a photo such as a passport,
driving license or national ID card.
An acceptable document for proof of address is a utility bill, a credit
card or bank account statement, landline or mobile phone bill or another
official government document.

Please provide a recent bank account statement along with invoices showing
authenticity of items sold.

PayPal suspects something. This is not a request for a tax-id number,m it is the full blown verification request. If you want to keep the accounts, you will have to provide the documents they are asking for.

It is a stealth account, how can I provide SSN or anyway to skip this part?

Base your response on this. Are you selling items that are real or items from China that are not.

Get over the items issue and consider EINs.

I've had this go a few ways.

1. Called PayPal on a stealth account, sweet talked my way into getting the limitation lifted as I knew there was an increase in sales that led to it and basically just played dumb.

2. I currently have an account that I am trying to get the limitation lifted on and no luck. I gave them a copy of my SSN card, license, invoices, everything they wanted and nothing. This account was being used to receive payments, had the debit card so it was nice to be able to withdraw right away. I was accepting payments on one of my websites, applied for the step above which allows processing on my own checkout instead of a redirect, and that triggered a limitation. Crazy how things can be sometimes.


I would try calling them, tell them it is a business account and you can provide business information but there are multiple owners so you do not want it linked to any one individual for tax purposes and such, if you make a plausible case I can see them allowing you to possibly get away with EIN/invoices/proof of shipments/proof of address (which is possible to obtain).

I am selling real things, but some are manufacturer's defects. When Paypal ask for invoice, what to give to them. For those bulk clearance items, there is really no invoice.

You have to get 'creative' invoices then.
