eBay fees charged through Bank Account.
 

Hi everyone!

I woke up this morning to an email saying that eBay took fees through my PayPal from my bank account! :doh:

Damn... Im terrified now.

It says pending but I dont have funds in the bank account number they took them off... Should I put funds in it or wait until the payment its declined? They charged me 60€ for a sale thats waiting to be canceled because buyer changed his mind... So eBay will eventually return the fees too.

I thought credit card or PayPal balance would pay itself! But it didnt :(
However... The account has real details from a friend, its just my bank account in it.

Advise is welcome and fingers crossed that I wont get screwed up. Thanks!

If ur bank dont have money 2 to 3 days they will remover ur bank acc if you not pay fees.

My question is... What should I do? Should I decline the payment or not to top up the bank account? Will I get linked? Or will they see the mismatched name?

1. I would put funds in the bank so you don't get declined AND the bank doesn't charge you for overdraft.

2. Don't worry about PP seeing the name of the bank - yes they can but 1 time is not likely to cause issue.

3. From here on, try to pay fees in advance with a vcc or credit card.

4. Why are you using your friend's bank account and not your own? :eek:

Thanks for that. Im using my bank account. The only thing im using its my friends credit card. Shes a family member so no problem :)

So they cant see my name when fees go through the account? Thanks again!

I pay my fees through my bank account everytime. No issues to date.

Fees have been taken out of our bank and never had issues. Only time issues occur is if you have no funds in your bank and then you get hit with an overdraft charge.

I had fees come out of bank by mistake in the past, nothing happened.
They would not bother looking at the name on credit (if it is even on there) unless there was a reason to, it is all automated, if accs going well, they are not going to be interested.

They can see the name (since a receipt is generated) BUT - as oompa wrote - it's mainly automated...so the chance of any ACTION being taken is LOW...1 time is not likely an issue

To avoid this issue in the future, you should deny Direct Debit (SEPA payment debited from you bank account)
