PayPal 21 payment hold
 

hi everyone,
Occasionally few paypal accounts are hit with a 21 day hold policy, this hold is separate from the eBay one. it says this hold will be lifted once I receive more than 10 payments, and become at least 60 days old. It says that once I update the tracking info, they will release the payment after 7 days from despatching the item, however, they always keep holding it for the whole 21 days even after adding the tracking details.
After 60 days, I receive an email that they will no longer hold my payments, however I have few accounts now on more than 120 days, no issues or disputes, but the payments are still being held. Is there a way around this, also what is needed in order to remove this hold.

are you selling constantly on the accounts that are at 120 days?
or are you just selling a few things a month?

What are your DSR ratings like?

Well are the incoming transactions around the same price.?? PP usually looks at your selling practices and changes might trigger new holds. Yes even after 60 days .

Holds are removed when you sell constantly, and are enabled again if you stop. I have a several-year acc, and when I stopped selling for a couple of weeks, 21 day holds holds returned for 1 week.

I sell around 10 items monthly, sometimes spreaded over the whole month, sometimes all within a week. My price sale's value varies between £10 & £40, so far all dsrs are good on all accounts, perhaps one or two late delieveries on two separate accounts.
I'm very curious to understand the algorithm paypal uses, which I believe only very few in paypal know.

I have found from personal experience, if you upload tracking and the item shows as delivered before or on the expected date, Paypal will release the funds 3-4 days later even if the account has received less than 10 payments and less than 60 days old.

I have also had an account which was about 4 months old, fully verified, EU limits removed and holds removed. It was receiving instant payments, and after about a week of high activity the payments became 21 day hold again. After about 3 weeks payments became instant again.

There is no way around remove a hold once Paypal decides to put this back on your account. Ship the item promptly and your money will get released faster.
