Say -- new account with 5/$500 limit and selling 5 items a month -- good feedback..



45 days? 90 days?

No one knows the answer to this questions thats asked 9089784 times already.

Sell to your limits, get good feedback, keep up good DSR, ship quickly etc. All the things you should be doing anyway. In my experience ive never had to wait the full 90 days for them to be removed. Its all down to PP discretion, just keep going and all your hard work will come to fruition.

Very difficult to predict incniu - and the hold can come back too

Does anyone happen to know if not having Tax ID on the account makes a significant difference? It seems that it would from a risk protection standpoint.

My account just reached 90 days since first sale, and it still has the 21 day hold. Everything else is in good shape. I have fantastic feedback, have sold 50ish items, have sold $600ish and ship very quickly, always through eB.

I am considering adding an EIN I have to try if that will likely be what tips the scale to having no-hold.

If adding an EIN made the 21 day hold disappear we would all be preaching going the EIN route.

There isn't anything you can really do about it except by patient. We all have the same issue when it comes to this. It's not fun, but there isn't anything we can do about it. A lot of the times I never receive holds. I just started using an account two days ago and have received 18 payments as Goods and Services so far without holds. I only use PayPal though, no eBay. I think that with eBay it's pretty much unavoidable.

for me it usually happens after like 1000 GBP in sales, and like 25 sales in total.

If you target the fact it is likely to be 90 days + , PLUS $250+ in sales, PLUS 25 transactions......and if it happens any sooner it is a bonus.

My last account released at 60 days on the dot, one before that never had a hold, and my current account doesn't have a hold...yet...

For business account you got to have 5 successful sales from 5 different people, 60 days from from sale with no complaint, $150 in sales, and verified everything this means SSN, vcc, vba, if you do that you'll receive no 21 day hold in 60 days but downfall is you can receive that hold again if you got weird activity such as logging in from different IP, receiving more than usual money, withdrawing large amount of money very quickly, or not using your account in a long time then all of sudden you start receiving large amount of money.
