Calling PayPal to report unauthorized transaction
 

Long story short, I got scammed.

I called PayPal to report an "unauthorized transaction" to get my money back because I got scammed. I didnt know you can dispute when you send paypal gifts, guess you can. I called with my real number which was linked to my real account, so is PayPal out to get me now for lying about my name

If you're not doing anything suspicious with that account, Paypal won't really care.

Nope. It got hit by a hard limit but for some reason it disappeared. I guess paypal missed me and wanted me back but it was too late. I went stealth.

Does it matter if it was banned?

What if the items I am selling are against their terms but the items are legit and people benefit from them?

Because these are items I am selling on my website, not eBay or anything. I'm more selling a service though.

I think what I am selling complies with their rules but when I sell them on eBay, they don't allow it and have got suspended on eBay for doing it.

I dont think you can dispute those family and friends or gift payments. But good luck winning.

Isn't "unauthroized transaction" when someones else logs in and uses your account? :spy:

I have always thought that you could dispute any type of transaction

Not gift payments. If you try and dispute a gift payment, you'll still be asked to fill out the usual forms at first, but you'll simply get a message saying something along the lines of "Your complain has been recorded, but a case cannot be opened for a gift payment" at the end.

But I reported an unauthorized transaction. I wonder if it would work if I said that I got scammed or something other than an unauthorized transaction
