Personal seller vs Business seller

Advantages/Disadvantages? Which is better for stealth selling account?

Re: Personal seller vs Business seller

registering as a business seller on a NEW account is an advantage for myself just because I get an increase on selling limits of up to 100 items £3,500 per month if I had a personal account then my limits would only be 10 items £650 per month.

I ALWAYS like to make £300 to £400 on a NEW account each week so the increase is what I like as it works for me :)

Paypal doesnt ask specific documents later if you are a business seller? and what would you choose if the limit would be the same for personal and busienss seller (let say both have like you mentioned 100/3500)?

Re: Personal seller vs Business seller

When I set up a personal account I went on to a chat feature to get some selling limits as I didn't have any on a new account the lady only granted me 10 items at £650 per month.

I said I need more selling limits as I have more than 10 items to sell she says to increase your selling allowances you need to register as a business account.

I upgraded my personal account to a business account and I was granted 100 items at £3,500 per month right their and then.

On a personal account you can have more selling allowances but when you register a personal account your ONLY allowed to list 10 items at £650 per month your have to wait another 30 days to get an increase, unlike a business account I was able to get the increase straight away something I ALWAYS need when I open NEW accounts :)

PayPal will ask for documents if you have a personal account or a business account it doesn't matter.

If your selling high risk items or your not able to remove the receiving limit then their ask for them off you (if you have a personal account or business account)

When creating a NEW STEALTH account its important to have these documents handy for when they do ask for them off you.

Thank you for detailed answers. What documents they can ask for business seller?

Re: Personal seller vs Business seller

In the UK the documents they usually are ask for are:

Proof of ID
Proof of address
Bank statement (sometimes)
Invoices
Credit card statement (sometimes)

That's about it :)

I personally always use personal accounts, because i can provide all docs for it, compared to Business accs, that have much more docs that can be requested. And why to attract PP to an opportunity to ask even more docs from you?

When I forwarded my bank statement and sent my invoice on my business PayPal account their was a lot of money on the bank statement and a lot of money on the invoice it was all made up but was accepted by PayPal.

PayPal did ask for a company registration number but I said its just a hobby I don't earn enough money to register my business and they were happy with what I sent them and my answer to them.

Re: Personal seller vs Business seller

Im assuming its different in each country. In the UK i prefer business after a few sales. Usually get organic limit increase to 500/£10000+, regardless of it being business of personal. However, at some point organic limit increases will stop so you will need to upgrade to business if you wanted higher limits.

samspalace is right about the type of documents that are requested if you are limited initially due to increase in sales. That is a very easy limitation to pass as long as your docs are in order. Cant remember the last time i got perma limited after that limitation.

Using personal account will be harder, lower selling limits etc. But safer.
IF you are going for a long term business i suggest to go with personal. And only after a few month upgrade to business account.

It will look a lot more better and not suspicious...

Re: Personal seller vs Business seller

If I upgrade the account to business now, do I need to provide anything to eBay or PayPal? I run this account for more than 3 years. I need higher limits. Thinking if I should upgrade to business or not. (I am from Thailand, have my Thai company.)

Can I use eBay business with PayPal premium? Or do I have to also upgrade PayPal to a business account?

Any advise will be truly appreciated.
