hi all,
just tried adding my Ulster bank to one of my paypals but it said please check the details and try again, anyone have any experience with this

Sounds like a glitch. Ulster is same as Halifax and BoS so should have no issus.

im thinking the issue is that its a Irish Ulster Bank account, maybe?

Ahhhh in that case.....

Could well be.......if it is an R.O.I ebay/pp then best to see if anyone else knows better as I know that Ulster UK & NI accounts have to applied for differently to Ulster ROI accounts.

Ulster has always worked with UK PayPal.

If you sign up to them and choose one of the branches in the UK it will work with UK PayPal, if you sign up in NI then it won't

So much wrong with your post, as usual.

If you read you would see it is a R.O.I Ulster account.

Ulster Bank has no branches in UK, so how is it possible to sign up there?:rolleyes:

We do not know if the OP is referring to UK paypal and ebay or ie.

I also see no reason why a N.I Ulster Bank account wouldn't work with UK paypal. :confused:

ROI. Whichever, same principle still applies.

When I set mine up there were no branches anywhere near me so I chose Newcastle and it has never been a problem. In fact it's one of my preferred choice of accounts.

ROI is different from N.I

You are actually using a Northern Ireland account on your UK paypal.;)

There are no branches in UK, only N.I or R.O.I.:doh:

Was ages ago, no idea what I chose. All I remembered was Newcastle something... pipe down. In fact before you were on the forum :)

If you want to talk about the forum, let's talk about the person who in 8 years makes close to zero contribution to it by posting less then 100 times. Then posts over 320 times in 10 weeks once they get a seller account, yet CONS people into thinking they have been an active part of the forum since 2008.

You have not.

You come out of the woodwork to make profit out of people who know no better...

Yet you press so many 'wrong buttons' and make so many fundamental and factual errors that I really do pity those who buy from you.

Anyone who wants to buy anything is far better buying from a respected, active account seller. Anyone newbie want to know names PM and I can recommend a dozen. Vetus is most certainly NOT one of them and should be avoided at all costs.

Account sellers should be held to account at a far higher level than anyone else for their posts.

They are taking peoples money and making a good profit, supposedly because they know more than some.

So, for an account seller to say.....'If you open an Ulster Bank account through a Northern Irish branch of Ulster Bank, it will not work on UK paypal. I have opened through a UK branch Newcastle and it works, but only if you use a UK branch.'

Well, it is the biggest load of tosh ever, and shows said account seller has gaping huge holes in his 'knowledge'.

There are no UK branches of Ulster bank, and the branch they opened their account at was Newcastle in N.I, therefore they are talking 100% utter crap, and along with all the other errors and mistakes they have made, makes you wonder how they can be classed as fit to sell to others.

They are the ONLY account seller of UK accounts who keeps making all these mistakes. God only knows I have had differences of opinions with account sellers on these boards before, but that has never caused me to question whether they are fit to sell, it was just a difference of thoughts.
