I believe PayPal blocked American Express from even being added to PayPal but I could be wrong.

If you cannot find a thread about it on the forum best thing to do is give a go and see what happens :)

It's easy to create a stand alone pp and try the Amex on it - if it works, use the pp for a different stealth :)

You wont be burning anything. If it works, it works, if it doesnt, it doesnt work and add another bank account.

If it doesnt work just close the bank account and find another bank. And from my experience, most prepaid cards dont usually work or dont work for the long term.

I once had a american express online bank account, they closed all 3 accounts within 2 months of paypal mismatched deposits. Their fraud department called me in the morning to say where is this paypal money coming from, I explained it to them and they closed me down.

There is much better options out there then some prepaid card. Local credit unions have some of the best options.

I don't know about for WITHDRAWING, but for "SPENDING", AMEX is still allowed. I have an AMEX card linked to a personal Paypal that I sometimes use to buy things (and it's Bluebird)

I was strictly referring to The Bank Account portion. PayPal has cracked down on prepaid's.

I had my Bluebird linked as bank account, but that was 2-3 years ago. I dont think they work these days.

Yeah, any prepaid that was added before their crackdown will still work.

Oh, bluebird American Express did work some years ago, they might still today, dont know. I once used them for about 6 months. THe issue is that lots of places dont accept American Express debit card.

I dropped it for that reason and went to Visa or MC 100%.

YUP! Visa and MC accepted everywhere. AMEX only big retailers.
