Using someone else's Paypal account
 

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post. Are there any potential problems in sending payments for items sold on my eBay account to my friends Paypal account? This would be a temporary measure until have a new Paypal account set up.

It depends on how much you are trying to send and how many times you plan on sending it. If you keep sending for example $500 to your friends account for payments you receive Paypal could investigate the payments ask your friend to either confirm delivery or the payments will be reversed back to your account and then you will have to either refund the buyers or add a bank account. In addition to anything else they may require, supplier invoices etc etc.

Also if your friend does withdraw some payments and receives a notice that paypal is investigating those transactions their account will go in red as well.

Hi, thanks for the reply. What I mean is if the Paypal payment email address I enter in my eBay listings, is to my friends Paypal account would it cause any problems?

It'll link your accounts for one.

And two since information on the accounts don't match, your eBay account could be limited.

If your eBay account becomes limited, and if your friend has an eBay account, it'll become limited as well.

It's not a good idea if you like your friend.

There are other reasons why this is a bad idea, but I think you get the point.
