Paypal EIN public database
 

I know this was covered before, but i can't find the threads. The search function ignores my terms IRS and EIN because they are too short, so the search gives me pages of irrelevant output.

How much lead time should you use when getting EINs from the IRS website before they can be seen by PP in whatever database they use for matching when you are required to submit an EIN or SSN to them?

I've gotten and used an EIN on the same day. So not very long.

And it worked? I seem to remember seeing someone talk about a delay of 1-2 weeks from when you get the LLC's EIN issued and when you can safely use it.

It will work the same day you receive the EIN, but yes, for the EIN to be actively in the system to work when checked by whatever system like paypal it generally will be working within 3 to 4 weeks.

Paypal must already take it into account that there may be a delay in relaying information when an EIN is new and may do checks a few weeks after it is entered because i have entered EINs on several accounts the same day it has been issued to me and it always worked

It takes two weeks from the time you receive the EIN for it to show up in their verification database. You can use it immediately, but if PayPal sends it to the IRS for verification before 14 days have elapsed, it will come back "no match". If that happens, just make sure that 14 days have passed and you can try again.
