I would be surprised if anything like that ever happens. Amazon likes having full control over the payment system they have and there doesn't not seem to be much advantage to them giving that up

1/3 of all the money spent online goes to Amazon through their payment processing system. Why in the world would they change anything now? They are already firmly dominating the market..
