They have been requiring a Tax ID for years, on USA accounts.

You can only get one by being born in USA

What's an EIN? Before my account got suspended they never did I bought this account that she came with something

An EIN is an Employer Identification Number. They can be used on USA accounts as a Tax ID, in place of an SSN.

They require this information from you because they are required to report your income to the IRS once you pass the 200/$20000 threshold.

So, if you do decide to apply for an EIN, just make sure you are prepared to file taxes for the EIN next year.

I only sell small items, like in 3 months I've only made about 2500 dollars, is there anything I can do?

If you are in the USA and have an SSN then you can easily get an EIN and add that to PayPal

Size of item doesn't matter.....File for an EIN, Apply it to PayPal.

I am pretty sure you can get an EIN from outside the USA without a SSN, but you are limited to just the 1.

May have to wait for others to confirm that though!

I believe it's called a TIN if your out of the Country.

Lol, you act like you know me. You must've seen some of my past posts, they never really asked for it, I just open my information and saw SSN number and it was blank , lmfao. So I overreacted as usual. I really need a chill pill most of the times because I always freakout, lmfao omg. And yes, I'm in the US and I deal with very popular high quality, products. I'm mainly freaking because they put a hold on my already released money because a lady couldn't understand what I was saying and opened a Paypal case on me. And I could've won, because I do have the emails of me telling her exactly what it was and she claimed the item wasn't as described. So because my return address wasn't "mine" I lost. That will never happen again, I went ahead and sent her the other one, on me. I had proof, but it was really Stressing Me Out. Live and learn, I just want Paypal to take my hold off.
Does anyone know once the case is closed how long they hold it for, because she did close it and I explained my part.

You can't do that! can't just add yours or someone else's SSN to a PayPal....especially if you already used yours.

SSN does not verify paypal. A bank account does that.

But to meet IRS needs, paypal asks for ID info from sellers.

Tell me exactly what you think you have to do. Then we can help push you in the correct direction.

Oh wow, I haven't even checked in on this. Haha, y'all went to town on this post, anyway Ebay no longer has a hold on my funds and they're released instantly. As far as that ladies hold, they still have that even tho the case is CLOSED, I'm angry yea, but what can I do and it gets better, she bought something else but because of the case she opened I'm assuming, they didn't put a link for me to print a label. So what do I do, cancel the order, can she open another case on me if I refund her? I don't want her money just sitting in my account , what should I do?

Read what I just posted.... As of today PayPal, really eBay, no longer has a hold on my money, but they have a hold on the case she closed. They're not doing anything and I'm not stressed over it anymore, I need to know about the purchase she just made again that has no link to a label. Can I refund her w/o worrying that she'll open another case? And she did this through PayPal not EBay .......
