First 2 payments no holds, third + fourth payment holds, why?

I have a very old paypal account and the first 3 payments were no holds, but after that all payments are on hold. Do you guys/girls get this too frequently? This just started happening on some accounts. I have been selling outside of ebay direct invoicing.

The holds are all of the place at the moment.

P.S. holds can come and go at any time.

Yes i have noticed that if I have no account activity for a while i will get holds at times when i start using the account again.

holds depends not only on the seller account, but also on the buyer account

I never thought of the buyers account playing a role in a sellers payment being held. That may be the reason for the every now and then random holds that happen to me.

I received like $30 dollars and no holds on that same account later by trying things out.I'm guessing it has to do with with huge amounts that it started putting holds. Sucks, but oh well. Goodluck people.
