Why doesnt paypal verify BEFORE you sell
 

Was just thinking about this after paypal requested some docs.

Theres got to be some reason. Its got to have to do with their wanting to keep funds and lock accounts. All of this would be so much smoother for them and for us if when you signed up. Just asked what do you want to do with this paypal account and you give an idea of what you plan on selling in a month. Then they ask for ID, invoices and whatever else they want. Verify before selling. Then if you deviate or go beyond they can just make adjustments. You've provided invoices for these 10 items and your ID already. Then if you sell more they already have all that info and all they would need is invoices for the rest. Theyve made the entire process so hard and its gotta be simply so they can lock up funds and keep them. I cant think of another way. If you have $1500 in your account they get to keep it for as long as they want until you provide all the SS#, Mothers brothers car insurance form, dna samples and whatever else they want.

So you want a harder paypal? It's hard enough when they limit your account and hold the money for 6mos... 6 ****ing months...

No i think this is easier on everyone. Tell what they want and get it up front. The DMV is hell but whats easier. If they tell you everything you need and you have it before you even fill out the form or waiting until you are in line and then being told what you need? I just just its done on purpose to keep money as long as they can.

Here's my suggestion, create multiple accounts 5-10 and spread your sales among them. If you do this, I guarantee that you will less likely get a limitation from Paypal. The thing you have to remember when it comes to Paypal is that during that first 3mo period, you are on tryouts.

sdot use to sell accounts on here. I am sure they are well aware of what you are referring to.

I agree sdot, I think they could verify accounts before allowing ppl to sell and accept funds, making paypal a more secure place. But if you was paypal, that would hurt your shareholders. It is much easier and profitable to let ppl sell their goods and reap the fees. It is also more profitable to limit accounts and hold the funds for 6 months. I think paypal and ebay do this on purpose. I think the Ver0 hits and other take downs are not because ebay/paypal wants to. They want to make money just like anyone else.

I like it the way its at. I make money and they make money. End of story, so whats with the weather today.....

Yea I wonder how much interest pp draws in on locked money from 180 day limits

In my opinion they will run much better if they would assign limits, as ebay do.
10/500$ in sales, till you prove some trust, then you can call and ask for more. Instead of this the "game" is going like this.

-PayPal ban, and keep money for 6 months...
-Seller search google what we can do
-he came here...he thinks the lady who banned him is a bitch!
-he creates a new account and got banned again pretty fast!
-so he came back and discovery he need to age accounts...

-one day a scammer will scam one of his paypal accounts. guess what?! he will pay the negative balance?! no ... he will burn the account down.

-paypal will increase their secuirty after this

repeat...
