Is it possible to get a PayPal Debit MasterCard with stealth?
 

Is it possible to get a PayPal debit mastercard on a stealth account? The only way I can think of would be with an EIN, registered to an actual address, right? That way the address would match PayPal and eBay... and they would also have a real place to send the card to? I guess it'd also have to be a stealth name very very close to your real name for it to have practical application, as your name is printed on the front of the card. I just have a PayPal Mastercard now and it's great to be able to spend funds the minute they come in, or withdrawl immediately from ATM.


I know it's not absolute stealth, but I wish to remain half-way in the closet... mostly legitimate account to take advantage of the full ebay experience... debit card, no hassles at the bank, feeling legitimate, etc, but stealth enough to not get linked

As far as I know, the card requires a valid SSN with matching info....could be wrong though.

If an EIN is accepted in liu of a SSN, the system should show SSN as a valid value?


I know on my other account... they were waiting on some thing or another that I wasn't aware of, but once I fullfilled whatever it was they were looking for they automatically sent a debit card without me requesting it. The process seems very automated... if criteria is met you get one automatically.

They would need to do a credit check, which wouldn't be possible with a stealth account

Trust me there's no credit check. I have quite possibly the worst credit in the world due to a closed business I personally guaranteed. This is not the credit card, which requires a credit check... its the debit card to access your own funds.

No, paypal ask for a SSN.

Others of us have tried everywhich way and that was the outcome.

Would be nice to simply withdraw stealth paypal funds from an atm, but seems impossible

No harm in clicking the link to request a card I guess; and if it prompts you for ssn or whatever else just hit the back button.

I also remember for whatever reason, I was NOT approved at that time for the debit card, with no explanation why. Later, when I verified something else when calling customer service, I got an email that my request from a year or two ago went through and card was on it's way. So if you're not approved.. It went on the back burner with no further prompts or issues. Then automatically approves once criteria is met.

There's a thread some where I can't find it where a member applied with EIN and account got limited. Playing with fire. Maybe Green Bean can find it.

Do you guys in the US not have a restricted prepaid card, whereby without an SSN, you can still utilise the card up to a certain threshold?

That thread regarding adding ein getting limited - was that paypal account personal, or business?

It is a LAW by the IRS and the Patriot act that ALL bank accounts and debit accounts require a SS even if you have an EIN. Impossible to get around this using legitimate and legal techniques.

Listen up people, I keep repeating this information a lot. 99.9% OF PREPAID DEBIT CARDS DO NOT WORK. In most cases PayPal WON'T even let you add the bank info. ALSO....99.9% of PREPAID will NOT work with mismatch name deposits. Do you people get it?

Do not work for what? The card I'm asking about is paypal-branded, and allows one to instantly load funds from their pp account to the card. I don't need to add it as a bank account or do mismatched name deposits.

Straight from the disclaimers on the card website:

*IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW CARD ACCOUNT: To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens a Card Account. What this means for you: When you open a Card Account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see a copy of your driver's license or other identifying documents.

In accordance with federal regulations, until it is activated and registered, a prepaid card is subject to initial load limitations, may not be used for ATM use, international transactions, account-to-account transfers, or be reloaded. Residents of the State of Vermont are ineligible to open a Card Account.

Thank you rsot. However, this does not specifically answer my question. That disclaimer does not say that they require a SSN, or that an EIN will not suffice for the information needed.

So why don't you just try and get one and see what happens, seems like were just going back and forth on this issue. Apply, and let us know how it went.

I just did. I realized and believe that I can order the card and try to activate as a run of the mill prepaid card before linking it to my PP account. So I will try to activate it with my EIN, and if it works, great, if not, so be it.
