PayPal want to verify my VCC by taking £1 off it!
 

My PP money is taking quite a while to clear funds even though it's been open nearly 2 months with small regular safe sales going through. then tonight i noticed that they want me to verify my VCC.they want to deduct £1 from my card and put it into my PayPal. I have money in my VCC but won't that tell them it's a VCC and alert them?

They already know by the nimbers what the card is.

Any vcc being used on any platform should have funds for these types of transactions.

Do you know what the balance is on the card?
More importantly what type of card?

I keep at least $2 on my all cards for this very reason.

Years ago had a couple of frights with this... Decided to never risk paypal getting more ammo to check into a gopd stealth account!

Why $10? the charge for me was $1.95 when it did happen. Luckily I had the money on the card.

I have mainly entropay for ebay.

So the funds never are wasted ;)

Other cards are on amazon where it can happen they 'check' the card without notice.

Just being.... paranoid really!

OP - have you bank verified the PayPal already then?

The £1 is to CONFIRM the address on the account by deducting £1 from the card.

It shouldn't in theory be a recurring charge but as GreenBean says, never leave the card attached with nothing on it.

They will already know that it is a VCC

The BIN will tell them that

It is fine to have them charge £1 to the card so long as the account is already bank verified.

After they charge the £1 and you enter the code into PayPal your PayPal becomes confirmed, which makes is stronger. Just make sure you have enough funds on the VCC for the charge.

Thanks guys. I use Neteller as my VCC and the code came through ok....I've now verified it without any trouble
