"Payment Under Review"...Over 24 Hours.
 

I have had these "Payment Under Review" situations in the past. The email that Paypal sends says "it may take up to 24 hours". In every instance that I have had this "review", it has been a case of it taking 24 hours...usually exactly 24 hours. At which time, I get the "payment cleared, OK to ship" email.

Received a payment yesterday (non ebay) and got the review email. Well, it's been over 24 hours now and payment is still pending. I have never had it go over 24 hours like this. Is this an instance where I should call Paypal and see what is going on with the payment? I have no problem calling Paypal at all, I do it all the time. I know the payment is legitimate, not an "unauthorized charge" or anything like that.

Might be because its the weekend.
Id give it another 24 hours.

i sent a payment yesterday to a friend of mine through friends and family its still under review. this has happened in the past to me too. i don't think you should worry too much. i know what you mean usually the payments clear within 24h but im in the same situation as you shouldn't be too worried. paypal seems to be holding a lot of payments recently.

Even over a weekend, I have never had it go over 24 hours. I will wait until tomorrow and see what happens. May just end up refunding the payment if it's going to be 48+ hours

So yours has been pending over 24 hours as well?

yes i sent money to a friend though it was a big amount, but i have done those amounts before. my only concern is it was a friends and family payment but regardless they still shouldn't be review for more than 24h..

This is odd, because I just had a payment that was under review on the 2nd and cleared on the 3rd...exactly 24 hours later. Now this other payment sent yesterday is still pending. I guess it COULD be because it is on a Friday/Saturday but have never had this happen before due to a weekend, so...

a weekend shouldn't make a difference because i had this something happen a few saturdays ago and it cleared on sunday..
