Case opened for a PayPal to be limited

Quick question - Annoyingly due to experience I've noticed that if you have 3 cases opened for a new account in the past 60 days whether you win or lose them, PayPal limits your account due to 'risk'. I've just had 1 chargeback case opened and won (:coffee:) and I'm going to assume this will still count as 1.

So my question is is this usually the same number of cases that will get you limited for accounts older than 60 days and with all the limits increased, as I'm debating whether to leave this account alone for a while.

And if I do leave the account alone for a while, how long does it take for the number of cases to 'reset'.

Thanks

Not sure a "win" will count against you.... yet.

I guess you are referring to Dick's case?

This really depends on the account's history. On one of mine I get 4 or 5 chargebacks every month from scamming international buyers.

If you have an aged account in great standing, Paypal (most likely) isn't going to shut you down for a few chargebacks. I guess that depends on the nature of the chargeback though. If you're getting a lot of $500 chargebacks which Paypal is forced to eat the loss on, then I can see why they would limit you. But as long your account remains profitable to Paypal, you're relatively safe in relation to chargebacks.

haha yh well now I'm thinking that would be an insult to most dick's, but yes the hammer scammer is what I'm referrring to. But any case opened will do since I'm bound to get one eventually and I'd like to know how many I should have before I should let the account cool off

K thanks, what about normal received or faulty cases etc. Never really got a chargeback before so the normal 3 limit cases is what Ive been counting.

Paypal limits new account having charge back.

If you won the chargeback then it does not count against your PayPal's account performance, I've asked this questions to PayPal reps on separate occasions and they have confirmed so.

I noticed that new accounts should not be getting anywhere from 1-2 open disputes consecutive or within the first 90 days, but is PayPal so things may be different for some members.
