Cannot add VBA
 

I have a stealth US PP account which I've been using actively for the past 2-3 years now ... It was all verified and stuff but my stupidity , about 2 years back, I accidently tried to charge the bank account that was added... needless to say it failed and my account has since then been unverified.

I'm trying to get the verified status again by adding a US VBA but as soon as I try to add it , it says "Device not recognised" and wants to verify by calloing the phone no attached in the account... I don't have access to a 3 year old number !!

If it matters, this is only a PP account and not linked to any eBay account .. I don't use eBay .... and I've been/am still using the account to receive/send payments without issues..

Any help is appriciated....

@rsot Yes. I've been using/still using a dedicated US IP which has'nt chaged for the entire life of the account..

Have you tried adding a new phone number? Or it can't be done

I've actually not tried adding a new phone number, but then again, I don't have a US phone number to add .. like I mentioned in my first post, this is a bought stealth account . I'm in India .

@GreenBean The time I accidently charged the bank account linked , it failed and the bank account was deleted automatically. I added a new VCC and have been using it ever since without issues.

The account status however, changed from Verified to Basic . Not that it bothers me in anyway for what I use the account for, but some shopping sites don't accept Unverified PayPal accounts as payment methods... that's my only concern.

Now it says My Status is "Basic" while I need to be at "Verified and Complete"
