PayPal asking for last 4 digits of SSN - What do I do?
 

I bought a stealth account a few months ago. Only now have I decided to use it.

Here's the problem: I heard that if you use a personal PayPal account I heard you don't have seller protection on eBay, so I decided to upgrade the account to business and all of the sudden they are asking me to provide last 4 digits of SSN and my DOB.

Am I screwed? I feel so nauseous because if I lose this account I won't be able to pay rent. I made a sale a few hours ago so I don't know how will I deal with the buyer.

EDIT: I'm looking at previous posts about this and I heard you could just enter any 4 numbers on the SSN field. Should I try this? Please help guys I'm so worried I'm sweating bullets.

Yes, try what you said and it will work.

Where in the world did you hear that bit about seller protection? I'm pretty sure that applies to everyone, business or personal.

Seller protection is for both types of accounts.

Do update us about entering any numbers.

i entered any numbers on the SSN field and my PayPal account is fine now. I guess PayPal doesn't check the numbers until you make a lot of sales.

Most of us add the last 4 of the. EIN.

I done think it matters at all for dollar amounts collected and if it does it is well over a million dollars for sure.

Paypal might be starting to check the last 4 now. I made a business account yesterday and I got a message saying "we couldn't open an account based on the information you provided", It might have bee a glitch or maybe not. I made another one right after it worked fine.
