TextFree for PP phone verification + problems?
 

So i used TextFree for phone verification and in the beginning i did receive the SMS, but now when i'm trying to send the money i am not getting SMS from PayPal. I removed that phone number and added another one, but now PayPal wants to add me a new phone number before sending payment. And when i enter the phone number from TextFree it says that it could not verify my identity or something along this.

What? Why is that? Or is the region different or something? What should i do? If it doesn't work im out of 500$+...

Phone changing with Paypal is very tricky. I suggest never do it and stick with the original number for the life of the account.

text free does not work for paypal at all. If adding a phone app number to paypal you must do it as a landline.

Should one delete the old number when adding a new number as landline?

If you can...we all know how hard it is to really delete something off of paypal. At least with landline they dont ask for SMS and you can add a real mobile number later if need be.

What is a landline? I can choose between home/mobile and work i think.

Also on other account it worked, i received message from PP (to textfree) and i sent 1 to confirm the transaction and it worked normally.


1.) Also what do you guys suggest i should do now? How can i add a new phone/what should i do?

2.) What to use for phone verification next time?

Homeline = landline.
And textfree for the most part will fail for SMS messages but you can get the phone calls just fine so instead of getting an SMS opt to get the call.

What we mean is, Don't use TextFree or any other similar phone line, instead use a Prepaid Phone or similar.

Suggest you either wait a while or try using the PayPal (worst case scenario).

You can add a new number at any time...but it doesn't mean it's going to work right away. I have heard of cases where it can take up to 30 days before PayPal will allow the new number to be used properly.

Use a Prepaid Phone.....stop using TextFree and other similar sites.

I am not from US that's the problem why i can't use a prepaid phone.

I tried clicking receive call and it failed, but i had voicemail on. This should be done using TextFree voice?
