Options for checking account on PP

Got a stealth account going thanks to the stealth guide but need to link a checking to new stealth account.
Should I go open a new checking account at a big bank or try to use an old savings account that I never linked to a blocked account? The savings account is from a small credit union.
I'm just a little nervous about mismatched deposits but I also want to avoid monthly fees.
Opinions?
