Business Account Monthly Release Limit

Been talked about a few times in the recent past, but this is in regard to the monthly release limits on your funds with business accounts.

A few months ago if you created a business account, you would get a monthly release limit right off the bat...example being the first $500 of your funds would be available to you immediately, then anything after that $500 would be held for 21 days NO MATTER if the item was received or not. This limit varied...could be $500, could be $5000. Each account that I made was different.

Fast forward to now...have 3 different business accounts that I made and none of them have a release limit to start with. However, after receiving a couple of payments from ebay sales, they sent the "starting today, the way you receive payments is changing" email. They imposed $100 monthly release limits. Let me say this...the items sold were not high risk, VERO or any of that. These are accounts that are just starting out, so they are being built. Of course you can click the "request increase" button, which I did, and it was automatically bumped up to $500.

Question is...is anyone else getting this as well? $100 release limit to start off? $100 is way too low of a limit, as anything over that would be held for 21 days...bumped up to $500, but that's still very low. I know these things will automatically increase over time, but it's an annoyance to have to stay within the confines of $500.

Apply for an increase, it should automatically bump you to $500.

I have already done that and bumped them all to $500. But they used to give a set release limit upon creation. Are they not doing this anymore? Across 3 different business accounts, each one had the 100 >> 500 bump

I come across one out of every few. Most don't have the initial release amount, but you can guarantee its $500. After your first payment if you don't get the message, you will after the second transaction. So you usually get the first transaction + the $500.

One account I bumped to 500 by "requesting increase". That got bumped to 1000 two days later because I had already hit close to the 500 limit. It just got bumped to 2000 today and I only have a bit over 500 from 8 sales. This ebay has 100/5000 limit so I am glad that the release limit got bumped, and hopefully after 30 days goes by, it will get bumped higher. Or before then is fine with me too.

The other accounts have a 5/500 and 10/1000 selling limit, so not much I can do with those for now. I think Paypal will stay at $500 on those for the time being.
