Verified/Unverified... what's the deal?

I was running several tests just to discover that, at less for new accounts, it doesn't matter. Much more in some cases having your account verified will only create more problems. PayPal will want ID + cc stament to be sure you didn't stolen the card!

Paypal nowadays seems to not give you anything "extra" if you verified your account. They know of vcc, vba...and the fact that somebody could easy steal an cc anyway and use it online.

I wanted to be sure and I have made several setups of 2 accounts on the same IP C class, verified only one...
i got the same spending limit (around 300$/day) before paypal will say "Sorry we can't send your payment right now".
I ran the same amounts, and guess what? For both accounts paypal asked for docs when i touched 4000$ (CANADA) in first month.
So why to verify your account if paypal doesn't care about it?!

PayPal nowadays only cares:
-your history with them
-your IP
-your country! yeah! i can prove it to anyone! every country have different rules. it's like they have a manager for USA and a manager for Spain for example, and that manager have to make profit, so they setup different risk levels, etc.

All I can say is , seriously. $4,000 in 1 month on a brand new account.....that's just dumb, of course they are going to ask for Docs! FFS.

Yeah, and they didn't care if the account was verified or not.
Same limits.

Verified accounts got me into troubles...like "bank statement?!" even if i didn't tried to use bank/cc as a funding source...

When assigning limits, PayPal only care about this 4 (off i know)

-your country, zip doesn't matter
-your IP! it can be residential or hosting, they care of how much abuse was on the IP C class i think...
-your history with them (not how old is your account but the transactions you had in the (recent?!) past with them?!)
-source of money. who is sending you money and how!? friends/family payment seems easier to be spent, then good/services.

I like doing tests.

Actually running 4000$ on a brand new account is not such a big deal.
You see 4 x 500$ payments will do better then 400 x 5$ payments.

When you try to "make volumes" even if you are selling 1$ items , you will get into troubles. Send 2 x 500$ on a 1 day account and you will be fine. Send 20 x 1$ and you will get a instant limit :)

first guy got ~980$ after paypal fees, second one got ~12.5$ after his 20 sales. this is how paypal "anti thief" system works.
