Hi

When you are using paypal as a buyer, to set up a paypal as a buyer what checks do they do when applying your debit/bank account to it and do you have to apply a bank account to it?

You don't need to add a bank account for a buyers account

Your card would need to pass the AVS checks which means the door number and the postcode on PayPal needs to match the information the bank has

Hi about the AVS check what about if it was a US or european account, do they not ask for id, do they not put the 3 or 4 pence in like they do with a sellers account?

AVS means Address Verification System! and it depends on the card itself (particularly Card issuer) not the country of the PayPal account.

PayPal is asking for ID on all EU PayPal accounts including the UK in order to lift the €2,500 receiving limit per year. (as they can also ask for docs if your account is limited before reaching the limit)

In the US it's different, they Ask for SSN/EIN.

In order to link a Card to PayPal on any country and whether it was AVS or not, PayPal will debit a small amount and include 4 digits in the transaction details, in order to verify that you are the real owner of the Card.

Hi

I just want to make a new paypal and ebay account to make payments and buy stuff, what will paypal and ebay ask from me and what ID will they ask from me to make an account just for buying. What would the different requirements be for a uk and us account. Is there any limitations for purcahses at the beggining using a credit card, I dont wish to link my bank account
