Paypal Asking SSN when Registering for Business Account
 

So I signed up a stealth business account today and I couldn't get past the SSN page so I entered a random one and got past it.

After reading some threads today saying to use your EIN instead, I went in my paypal and entered my EIN number in the SSN area (as that is the best thing I thought I could do).

Will paypal pick up on this? Should I trash this account and start over? I haven't linked my bank account yet because I am waiting to see if there will be a limitation put on it.

They always does, and no you shouldn't trash it.
You are good to go, just go to settings and add EIN.

So there won't be any problems after if I did that? Have you or anyone experienced any issues after entering EIN in place of SSN?

they limited me yesterday on an acct.

i entered last 4 of EIN when they asked for SSN and DOB.

but it NEVER asked me for the EIN. I was confused by this and never though to have to go enter it manually deeper into the settings.

this sucks!

Never enter Phake info especially a SSN into PayPal. If you have gone through the process to get an EIN then I would either call PayPal. Or just register as an individual account than upgrade later. Trying to rush is the number one no no for stealth accounts.

I have my EIN in place of SSN on my account where I entered it in the settings. As of now, the account is still there but I haven't add a bank account to it yet.

people all start off with individual accounts.

BUT

we at some point need to upgrade to a business.

So when we click on "upgrade to business", its asking for the SSN. You have no choice at that point but to enter a phake one OR your EIN in its place - which is still phake and won't come back correct if checked into.

So how are we to get around this?

Seems impossible now to have a stealth account also be a business account and do large volume.

You enter Phake EIN's and works?

Personally I run about 10 stealth accounts never upgrade past the 200/$20k.

I do have my main account that I used the stealth process to create but with a variation of my name and an EIN. Been working good for 6 years now.

IMO the stealth days are gonna keep getting harder and harder to stay alive.

PayPal is starting to request not only EIN, but they want SSN up front now even before the EIN.

So once you enter a "BS" SSN, they will eventually find out that it isn't a match. Then bam your done.

No I do not enter PHAKE EIN, I enter real EIN as they're not too hard to get. Just costly to get.

Much understood thanks for the clarification and I understand. But why not just sell as an individual account then upgrade to a business account later? Seems like it would solve a ton of headaches. Then when you upgrade you go the EIN route, or is there something I am missing?
