Important – We noticed unusual activity in your PayPal account

Dear Blah Blah

We need your help resolving an issue with your PayPal account. Until you help us resolve this issue, we've temporarily limited what you can do with your account.

What's going on?

We noticed some unusual activity on your PayPal account and are concerned about potential unauthorized account access.

What to do next

Please log in to your PayPal account and complete the steps to confirm your identity and recent account activity. To help protect your account, access will remain limited until you complete the necessary steps.

The security of your PayPal account is a top priority for us and we want to work together to help protect it.

If you need help or have any questions, call us at 1-888-221-1161, 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM PT and Sat-Sun 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM PT. Please note that hours of operation may vary on holidays.

Sincerely,

PayPal

When I log into my Paypal account I get prompted with a screen that says:

We noticed some unusual transactions recently

Paypal is wanting me to confirm my identity and when I click continue it forces me to receive an automated call or receive a text I have tried to receive the call or text and got ''This number doesn't appear to be registered in your name''. The other option is to upload a Drivers License, Passport, or Military ID.

This is the very first time I have ever received this from Paypal. It won't even let me log into my account and let me see my balance or anything.

I have received ''This number doesn't appear to be registered in your name'' a couple of times in the past on a few Paypal accounts when trying to withdraw funds to bank accounts. In the past I was able to get past it or it even went away after so much time elapsing.

Is this the same scenario? With what Paypal is wanting will it ever go away after so much time elapsing?

It sure seems that Paypal has stepped their game way up in the past 6 months. They still don't phase my overall business by any means.

Sorry, but you will need to give what they are asking. There's no other way around it that I know.

Thanks for your reply guys I'm going to wait it out anyway just to see for myself what really happens.

Is there a way to confirm a new phone number on the account having lost the old phone number and needing to add a new one?

From my experience adding a brand new phone number on Paypal and having it confirmed is impractical especially when Paypal has thrown your account under the bus.

I was using a Tracfone but I no longer have access to it.

What type of phone and carrier do you use bluegrass for Paypal? or are you using a particular app or call forwarding?

I have a array of different phones . But at this point adding a new phone wont help as it will default back to the number you made the account with .. .
Are you a paid member on here ??

My experience is you just have to walk away and wait 180 days.

In 180 days does the verification go away and you are able to use the account as normal, or after 180 days you can withdraw money but the account is still limited? Thank you

Unless notified otherwise, nope, it stays limited. 180 days is pretty much your walking papers.

I am going to try to submit ID as requested and try to get the limitation lifted that way since it seems like my last option. We shall see if this works.

Otherwise I will just wait the 180 days to withdraw funds.
