Do I need a phone adapter?
 

A few virtual phone number sites show a diagram of a router, ethernet cord, "phone adapter", phone line, phone. Vumber didn't require a computer, but everything I've looked in to does. Do I need a phone adapter to set this up?

check for soft phones...they use your computer but they act like regular landlines. there are many soft phone programs out there for pc's & macs. usually you can set up softphone service with any program you choose for your computer. some softphone services also allow you to forward your line to a landline...so sweet...! ;)
