How long for PayPal to recognize a new telephone number?

Does anybody know how long it takes PayPal to recognize a new added phone number that wasn't used to set up the account with? In other words, when will I be able to phone verify with a new number that was added. I lost access to the original number. Thanks

From my experience it can take 6 months actually - and be sure to link and verify the phone number by getting the text message to it.

It seems that it takes forever. I never had patience to wait half or year or more. Glad to hear it eventually does work.

have the same problem,I changed phone number to new and now I can't verify account via phone but I have access to old and new phone numbers.
What I need to do?just waiting?
