eBay Suspended & PayPal Limited Forums - Can EB See Your Phone Location?

Can Eb and pp see your phone location, when you receive a phone confirmation? Is it an issue if the countries are far away and not neighboring one another? For example - I'm using a sim from Hungary, while I'm the UK to confirm an account with HU IP, addresses, PP, everything. This thread got me thinking:

No, they can't see where the actual physical phone is located....all they see is a phone number.

So this guy I quoted doesn't know what he's talking about and there's no leakage when receiving a verification SMS on a smartphone, while not in the country where the SIM card is from?

Reading the thread you quoted, perhaps they can. But the point is do they? and to date there is no evidence to suggest they do.

Again - no evidence to suggest they care about things like that at the moment. So you should be fine.
