Ebay now giving option to email for verification rather than phone.
 

This will work out much better as we dont have to make sure a number is setup to receive the call.

This is true, I had an account verified via email this week with ebay.

Are you referring to first signing up or if they need you to verify an account (not recognizing computer)?

I think this is just to sign up for an account. If you want to sell an item they make you do the phone verification.

ebay gives the email option now if they don't recognize the computer (ie; you are trying to create an ebay token without old cookies present). but your account needs to be phone verified before selling.

Thanks for clarifying ebaykilla. That makes a lot more sense. I thought the OP meant when listing your first item.

so you are saying that if you verify with phone originally, if it doesnt recognise your computer it will give you email confirmation? that is a big help to me - are we sure, update please, especailly UK, Europe accounts too!

I already had my number setup when I tried to verify my ebay account and to my delight it has email verification option instead of the call me in 2 minutes option to verify.

It's pretty straight forward. They email the code to my email and then it's just cut and paste to verify

Btw I have listed and sold a few items to date and so far no calls to my phone to further verify me.

yes it is but not to open an account..just to verify you after you register.
