Time to give back to the board: $3.08/mo T-Mobile Prepaid?
I've run into something that might be useful for those who are having phone problems or live in smaller cities.
T-Mobile Prepaid Phones:
Not CHEAP upfront, but per month, it's rather cheap. This is for a "keeper" stealth account. Not a throw away account. For those who want to keep their account and have a physical phone. Plus, who knows? Perhaps one day FBay will ask us to call THEM back using our phone on file? Certainly doesn't hurt to be forward thinking.
DISCLAIMER: I haven't tried this yet (about to) but did speak with TMobile 3x to triple verify their TOS I am about to outline.
Go to TMobile.com and look under prepaid plans. They have a sale right now for $19.99 on refurb prepaid phones. Buy the SIM card with 10 mins already on it (now on sale for $6.99 from $9.99). The initial 10 mins expire in 90 days. DO NOT REFILL the phone mins and let it expire. 89 days later or before, refill with the $10 card (also good for 90 days). TMobile with only CUTOFF your service if you do not refill your account within 90 days of expiring. So you get 179 days with the 1st 10 mins on your SIM card, and then another 179 days with the first and only refill.
19.99 + 6.99 + 10 = 36.98/12 months = $3.08/mo
Yes, they also allow you to change telephone #'s at no cost. (pls confirm with TMobile)
They even offer free overnight shipping right now.
REPEAT: I have not yet tried the complete cycle so PLEASE do NOT take this as a working method. Rather, take a look, call them up, and verify for yourself.
PS: All names and address on the ebay, pp, cc, and phone are the same now. PSS: Just got off the phone again with TMobile.....in some high demand areas (ie: NYC) they MAY disconnect your service within 30 - 90 days of mins expiring. Also, if someone calls you during the lapse time, they will get an automated message that the # is "temporarily" not available. You will not receive any notification that someone called you. So in the end, looked better than it seemed. :(
To be completely protected, I guess you need to refill the card within 30 days after expiration. :(
