Porting Tracfone number to Gvoice

Gvoice allows you to port a number from Tracfone for $20.

I am wondering if anyone has tried to do this. Once the number is ported, does it still appear as a non-voip number to eBay/PP?

Dont port. Just setup call forwarding on the phone itself.

If I were to set up call forwarding to a Google voice number from Tracfone, I would need to keep the service active with Tracfone in order to receive calls on Gvoice, correct?
