How to reply to paypal's phone questions?

I get text messages from "62226" about my UK account saying:

[PayPal] Did you pay £300.00 GBP to xxxxxx on 16 March 2020? Please reply 1 if yes or 2 if no. [Reply needed]

How can I reply to these? I tried sending a text to 62226 but it didn't work.. do I need to be in the UK?
