PayPal Text Verifications
 

I finally got a new eBay and PayPal accounts. I but the one thing that is killing me are the constant PayPal text verifications. I have tried using Google Voice, TalkU, TextNow, TextPlus, Talkatone, Second Line, NextPlus and Burner. None of them are now being accepted by PayPal. So, I finally broke down and bought a real burner phone just for the sole purpose of being able to verify PayPal's obnoxious verifications.

I have no idea how long these new stealth accounts are going to last so I am looking for any other ideas on how to get around PayPal's phone verification. Please share your thoughts and ideas.

I use google voice on all my accts and have never seen what you just described.
Something about the way youre doing things is triggering a security check requiring the text verification.

I find if you log in to often it starts alarm bells ringing. Just an idea

It's been going on for several months now (at least 2-3). It's not triggered during account creation. For account creation (and also changing the phone number within the account) VOIP / Google voice numbers can still be used for account verification.

What seems to be happening (based on certain security "triggers" or combination of security triggers - funds withdrawal, sending money) you will get redirected to a screen saying something to the effect "Paypal wants to ensure it's you" and at the bottom will be the 2 options of sending a text or giving you a call - the problem is, the confirmed account phone number is not listed and they require you to add a number. At this point, if you attempt to add any VOIP number it gets rejected and a red diamond appears saying "that number is not registered to you".

And yes, it happens on not only new accounts but accounts that have been limited and unlimited that have documents uploaded and approved by paypal.
