Forwarded numbers, key pad number entry not recognized?

Anyone ever have this problem? With about 30% of my eBay verification calls, when eBay asks me to enter the random number they're saying, it just keeps asking over and over, like the entry I input in my phone is not being recognized. It doesn't matter if the number is from California, Arizona, Alaska or Canada ...and it's random.
