Is there any which doesn't require top up, you just stick it in and are able to receive SMS.

I recommend using Vodafone, it is very good for what you need, if it is for an eBay account, for no reason use the number of online platforms, you will lose your account

I put a fiver on a Three PAYG sim about five years ago. Other than making the mandatory call/text every three months I've done nothing else with it and it's still working just fine. Balance currently £2.80.

That said, I do not rely on texts where they can be avoided and if 2SV is an option I select that.

It’s not possible all network deactivate SIM card after certain period when no top up made
5 years simply impossible

Google this “ three pay as you go inactivity limit” after 180 days they deactivate SIM card and this happen to me few times all network does this only way to get around this buy data sim which last 2 years

No need to, I've already told you I have an active 5 year old PAYG SIM, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Not sure why you think i would lie about such a simple matter. Maybe speak from experience in future rather than googling everything you post. :)

But as promised, here's a screenshot, sadly I cannot confirm I took it it out in 2019 for one of my Amazon accounts, you'll just have to take my word for it that it ties in with one of my limited companies.

Pay As You Go SIMs can expire. To keep your number active, you must use it for at least one chargeable activity every 180 days. A ‘chargeable activity’ is something like making a call, sending a text, using your data, or using an existing top-up credit or Data Pack allowance.

Just like I said in my first post, indeed it's not 3 months its 6 months. You've saved me 30p per year.

O2 cards come with an activation date. Once that is gone then you need to top up to activate but if you don’t need the card after that date then just bin it.
