SIM swap, same phone
 

Hey y'all,

For new phone number verification.

Could I just buy a second SIM card with its own unique phone number, and swap it into my one smartphone when I need it for verification?

Or do I need a separate SIM card AND phone?

you may find better answer googling ,I have seen a T MOBILE guy doing it,I dont know if it works

for what I'm doing, I suspect it would work well enough.

but I ordered a ~$120 CAD android phone on Amazon and got a pay as you go SIM just to make it easier [SIM swapping would surely get annoying lol].

Just curious,I recently bought a tracfone(still keep my landline),I use my tracfone for LYFT and 2 factor verification,pretty much thats all I use it for,
what else do you guys use your smart phone?

@agent, your use is light and works well for you - ppl use it for other web browsing and functions...

textverified.com - you can rent numbers monthly from them without having an actual phone. Works fine with paypal.

yes,my use is light but once I have a tire blowout,it was ugly and I use it to call AAA.
It has all the other functions like camera,googling,watch news ,SMS,weather,SMS etc .
When I schedule an Uber or Lyft ride,I like to follow the progress on the phone,for afew dollars a month,I cannot complain.
Just curious what other high end phones offer which a tracfone does not?

You can just swap the SIM card into your phone when you need it for verification. You don't need a separate phone.
